Chair Yoga is an uplifting modified form of traditional mat yoga. It is suitable for older people with limited mobility, lack of flexibility, a problem with joints or recovering from illness or injury.
Chair Yoga can be done anywhere, anytime and is for everyone. Just find a seat and let's get started.
Chair Yoga is a great way to improve overall health and wellbeing. All the stretches are done whilst seated, there is no getting up down from the chair which removes the fear of falling and offers participants the confidence to exercise safely.
There are many reasons why practicing Yoga on the floor may not be suitable for some people.
Many of my students are living with an injury, arthritis, mobility issues, flexibility or balance challenges, a disability, or joint pain that makes weight-bearing uncomfortable.

There are many people who have challenges getting up & down from the floor and for many different reasons they miss out on practicing Yoga.
Yoga has so many benefits & these benefits should be available for all, not just some. Chair Yoga is the perfect solution, it is an accessible, inclusive way to practice Yoga that is perfect for any body, on any chair, anywhere. I love to encourage my students to stay as mobile and active as possible.

Hi, I'm Cheryl Staddon and I'm a Chair Yoga Teacher. I have been practising & enjoying yoga for many years. I have a passion for helping others to live not only healthier, but happier lives & I run regular Chair Yoga Classes at a variety of Aged Care Facilities, Retirement Villages and Wellness Respite Day Centres in the South of Sydney.
My students enjoy the benefits of Chair Yoga for strengthening their body but equally they love the fun & community of their regular class.
